Jack came to us in August 2022 aged just 14. He worked to pay for his own lessons, and took his first solo in March 2023, just after his 15th birthday. He passed his flight test and completed his Recreational Pilot Certificate and Passenger Endorsement by June.
In mid 2024, while also dealing with year 11 schoolwork, he completed his navigation training during a school holiday break then later started his RPL training with us. In 2024 and 2025 he also twice completed 40 ‘touch n go’ landings in one day, to raise money for the 40 Hour Famine. He has also been a regular private hirer.
‘I finished year 12 at the end of 2025 and worked for 3 months. I have now enrolled full-time at Bob Tait Aviation Theory at Redcliffe, to study each of the seven CPL subjects. Once I have completed them, I will be going to FAST Aviation at Lismore to do the practical side of my commercial pilot license (CPL) as well as my Multi-engine endorsement and Instrument rating, with the ultimate goal of becoming an airline pilot,’ says Jack.
